Arrow Question About Part Numbers??

Hi everyone

does anyone know how honda part numbers work? like which Numbers/letters mean what?

The reason I'm asking is i need a new subframe for my 2002 5dr, which is a rare car where I'm from so finding one isn't easy. The 2001-2005 sedan [which is much more common] has a subframe that looks basically the same as mine (i have put the two next to each other to compare and couldnt find any visible difference)

So i got the part numbers from Honda:
Sedan: 50200-S5A-A03
5dr: 50200-S5A-023

Does this mean they are the same part for different applications? or are they physically different in design.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response... My car isn't listed there though must be because its a rare type, my chassis code is EU3 (see http://www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1928390)

Anyone else have insight on the part number thing?

Where are you exactly? I didn't even know there was a civic sedan hatch. Sorry I'm no help, hope you find a subframe.
