so i looked at my car the other day and wondered why something was off ...

missing driver side sideskirt ... i mean how is that possible when its bolted to the car

i need a new kit ... whats hot out there for us 02' sedans?

mightve fallen off despite the bolts. i know mine is ready to break off and leave a chunk of skirt around the bolt. i have oem coupe v1 kit.

side skirts will fall off. one of my sergeants had one rip off randomly while driving one day and it looked stupid ever since lol. of course, its all dependent on the installation since if its done right ur door should close over it.

as for sedans i've rocked the Spyder 3 (some places call it the Black Widow) full kit on my car for almost 2 years now and i think it looks the best imo. i carefully evaluated the idiotic R34 conversion and the "EVO" style kits all the way to the "Buddy club" series and the Spyder really just raises eyebrows everywhere I go since everyone and their mom doesn't have it at the car meets.

No way mine are falling off. I have 3M running along the whole length, 2 screws in each fender well and about 6 screws underneath. Plus they kind of curl in my door sill area to where the door shuts over them. Kaminari FTW!

i looked at the kaminari but alot of kits looks like some guy gave his 7yr old kid a picture of an oem honda civic and all he did was draw a shitload of slots, wind tunnels and gaping holes to make it look sick.

I dont know how good the factory is with keeping the skirt on, but it sounds unlikely that it would just fall off... Then again maybe you hit a pot hole or a big rock?

my factory sides are starting to fall off and i cant fix without taking the whole thing off and redoing it. its not the greatest mounting system but at least it has alot of mounts so if some break the rest will keep it on (i hope).

molding is the safest and most efficient way of having some skirts. in fact, they're so good that when you do scrape or hit something instead of breaking the bolts it'll just crack the whole thing when it flexes

yeah the only problem with molding them is no shops want to work on the car. they dont want to be responsible if anything happens if the car goes on the lift ... car is due for 70k service anytime now.

i just might take the kit off for a while til i figure something out ... thing is beat to hell anyway.

tell the shops that they're stupid.

i used to feel the same way but there are 2 easy ways to work on lowered cars...

if they have a drive-on lift then you can use 2 pieces of wood to slowly drive your car and ease it onto the lift.

if they have a "4 swing arm" type lift then tell them to insert a small pump jack from the back of your car and lift it as high as it will go to swing the arms under your car...

it's too easy...people are just paranoid or don't want to put the extra work in.
