Intake/Header/Exhaust Questions

hi guys,
so i'm looking into getting an intake, header, and exhaust combo and i have a deal sort of lined up. for $870 shipped to canada (remember that shipping to canada would cost quite a bit more) the guy is willing to give me an AEM V2, a DC Sports 4-2-1 Race Header, and an RSR EX-Mag exhaust.

The intake has "about 8K miles on it. No major tube blemishes, great condition." and he's selling for 160 shipped.

The header has "about 9K miles on. In great condition; comes with O2 defouler (so you don't throw a CEL) and an O2 extension." and he's selling for 300 shipped.

The exhaust has "about 14K miles on it, super clean and no major dents in the pipes. Comes with all the appropriate gaskets and bolts." and he's selling for 300 shipped.

I'm just wondering am I getting a good deal on these items, and if they are too overused and what not.
Also, will getting that header result in me potentially running into some problems if I was to take the car in for an emmisions test kind of thing ("AirCare" we call it here)? Would I still get adequate amount of power with just the intake and exhaust? Or would the header make a big difference?

Thanks guys

Some quality parts there. Sounds like a fair deal to me provided everything is in good shape. The RS*R Ex-Mag exhaust has to be one of the nicest systems available, in my opinion. If that is the final price including the shipping, I would go for it. The only thing is the e-test. I believe the header will probably create problems for you, even with the defouler...unless you just keep your stock exhaust and throw it back on only for the test. I mean, it's only once every two years there, right?

what if i simply go for the intake and exhaust, and use stock header? will i be better off that way (by better off i mean have less problems and headaches)?
since there is minimal power gain ANYWAYS i would think i dont really NEED the header if it will cause more headaches

Re: Intake/Header/Exhaust Questions

Don't forget to mention that the Si here in Canada is actually the EX in the US. In other words you have a Civic EX. They don't have the "Si-R" so their SI is our SIR. If you know what I mean.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with the header or the intake. Grab the exhaust and get a generic intake and throw an AEM or K&N filter on it. You'll save yourself a few bucks, and get the same results.
