depends on personal preference, though i've found its best to just leave the ipod (iphone in my case) on normal, and tune the actual radio to your liking.

My typical settings on my head unit are about +4/10 trebel, 0 mids, +2/10 lows. But obviously our setups are completely different, so that may sound HORRIBLE for you, who knows. Just experiment and let your own ears decide.

i tune my ipod through the radio cause i use my ipod outside of my car alot, when i fly, the gym, long distance trips in someone else's car, etc. but my head unit is set +4/10 on bass and treble, 0 mids, and the loudness on low. it also depends on what you listen to for your settings to sound good, i listen to alot of horrorpunk and metal

Re: ipod sound quality ????????

In my experience leaving your ipod to its default settings and tuning your head unit has always given me clear results.

Alot of times the EQ on your ipod will conflict with the settings on your deck. (ie Bass on Ipod + Bass settings on deck = sh#$y music)

+4 on bass? your mids and highs arent gonna last too long eh. leave all your head unit "eq" settings to 0. or even <0 on bass. depends on what you listen too. but this will keep your door speakers lasting how they should. not enough bass for ya? add a sub.

Re: ipod sound quality ????????

just turn the Ipod equalizer off and the songs will be played as they were encoded to be and let your deck do the rest.

doesnt sound like good staging. if you like how it sounds than rock that **** out. but really in a typical setup with say a single 12" sub, oem or not much better than oem quality mids and highs. even with that much added base you need some power on your front staging. +3 to the rear means your just giving your ambience sounds more which in turn throws off your treble. thats fine if you dont like to hear the words in a song.

i don't know a lot about car stereo's by all means lol, i've never been good with anything when it comes wires and electrical stuff. i have a 10" sub but i wanna redo my stereo sometime soon. the one i have in now, a friend of mine worked at a car stereo shop back home so he did it all for me for free one day while i was at work. i'll try reading up on it some more but i always end up getting confused, anyways, i actually just turned my bass down to +2 and it sounds better now

Re: ipod sound quality ????????

its easier for me to control my music with my ipod in my lap then hitting stupid buttons and reaching across the car to my deck when driving so i max out my deck and adjust the volume with my ipod.

just my personal preference.

i put the volume about half to 3/4 way up on the ipod and then use the stereo, i use to keep the volume up on my ipod and use the stereo but then when i put on my ipod at the gym i'll forget the volume is all the way and scare the **** out of myself haha
