Re: Cam gear

Retarding your cam will give you top end as to where advancing it will give you bottom and mid range. I would not go too far either way with it. Maybe try going 2 degrees and see what happens. Let me know because I am about to put a camgear on my car.

Re: Cam gear

you need an aftermarket ecu to tune a cam gear. your factory computer will tune out any advance in timing you might make anyway. so whatever you do to it will be pretty much useless.

Re: Cam gear

Alright ******... I have seen my car on a dyno.. watched the tuner pull timing out with a piggy back and watch the factory ecu put it right back in. The factory ecu can adjust up to like 20 degrees of timing. If you are putting in mechanical timing and its taking it out electronically, it does you absolutely no good. You have to be able to tune both before it will help at all. If the cam is advanced, and the electronics stay the same it works... you get more timing and the mixture detonates earlier than it did before. If you advance it mechanically and the computer advances the spark electronically, you are back to where you started. Don't give me that BS about not being helpful. I don't post **** that I blew out my ***. If I don't know what I'm talking about I keep my mouth shut.
