Re: tranny problem after ATF change

How many miles are on the car, and what was the color of the ATF that came out? I have always heard, and learned in school that once the ATF has gone black, and you flush and put new tranny fluid in, it messes it up badly.

Your trans is slipping.

What brand ATF are you using?
If it is not honda, you need to flush the trans with Honda ATF then refill with Honda ATF.

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

How do you answer a question with a question? What type ATF did you use for the change? Have you checked the ATF level with a warm car and while it is running?

There might be air in one of the lines.

You should go through the process of eliminating the air.

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

Check your throttle body for carbon build up always good to clean it out every once in a while, although i doubt thats it. If its starting to slip I would put some Lucas transmission fix in and see if that does anything. Cant go wrong for $10.

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

It sounds like one of your holding clutches is slipping. Holding clutches hold the planetary gears in place to determine their out put/ratio.

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

If the third gear is slipping when i'm in drive as the car suddenly over revs but no acceleartion, but when i'm in D3, the car jus doesn't go into third gear, it doesn't slip, do i have to rebuild or replace the tranny or can that specific clutch be fixed?

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

also sometimes when i'm ddriving and reving at 3000rmps i suddenly hear a buck and the revs go down to 2000 and so i could get a few more kph out of the engine. the mech say its shifting. don't kno if that could help.

i think its more an electrical prob because i have no problem or delay when going into drive or reverse

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

well yeah you will have to rebuild it. its prolly just a bad clutch but tranny still has to be opened to change anything.

Re: tranny problem after ATF change

so will it cost the same as to rebuild the whole transmission or cost less just to fix that clutch?
