i wouldnt bother. they screw up the way the car runs. theres no way a different throttle body would bolt on and work. ive had the stock one bored out before but the computer was throwing error codes and my auto trans would not shift properly. it was a mess.

Does nothing, as the weakest link at that end of the motor is the actual plastic intake manifold in itself.
Honestly, there's nothing really worth upgrading in the D17 that doesn't involve a lot of part changeouts or forced induction.
Quickest horsepower gain = KPro and a tune

thanks for replies, i got a 02 ex with intake header and exhaust and just want a little abit more power without swapping engine i changed engine and tranny already to a lower mileage d17a2 but car feeling sluggish now i just want like 10-20hp, im gonna swap eventually to k20 but in the mean time what else can i do, i was thinking camshaft, ecu, throttle body, cam gear, how much is kpro? what about unorthodox crank pulley. also when you get to 100,000 miles what should be changed for more performance ? and im not talking about regular stuff like filters, spark plugs i was thinking coil packs?

how about vafc? or dh racing or kms parts? im looking to spend $600 or less where would it be best used all i got now is intake header exhaust and stock engine, is it worth it getting cold air intake over short ram dont you lose torque that way?

Conventional bolt-ons have no gain to be had with this motor. You can throw all the added air you can at it, but the ECU doesn't know what to do with it. This is included with cams.
If you have less than $500 to spend, realize there's no way of adding power to this motor.

Kpro is 1k+, and with a cam past stage 1 you'll have to do the valve train upgrade- which you will need either a piggy back or a stand along (kpro) to run it. If you are manual, then change your clutch and flywheel to a 7lb flywheel, you will accelerate really fast.

damn that sucks nothing but bad news so i guess no matter what have to change ecu so might aswell do that, what about when you turbo charge you have to change ecu aswell? what ecu does everyone thats goes boost use? doesnt jet or some other company do ecu cheaper apart from hondata ?
