Remote Car Alarm Problem
Remote Car Alarm Problem
I finally got around to pluging the car alarm installed on my car by previous owner. Its a Prestige alarm and it works great, sounds good but i have no distance on the remote at all. I have to be within 5 feet of the car to get it to work. I changed the battery in the remote. Is there anything else that could be disconnected or maybe a faulty remote what do you guys think??
Re: Remote Car Alarm Problem
No, generally on the aftermarket alarms there will be a long wire with an antenna at the end of it coming from the alarm brain. The best thing you can do is locate the brain and then extend the antenna up the A-pillar to the top of the windshield. You can get the best range by doing that.
