Replaced the alternator and it works fine according to the volts meter but it whistles around 2rpms only, sounds like a turbo. I checked the belt and it feels fine, its not slipping or anything. A friends of mine says it might just be it wearing in but i installed it about a week ago and it still whistles at 2rpms...?

Anyone know why??

it should be fine,,, i replace my alternator about 2 months ago, my whistles as well,, i think its just the way the alternator was build,,

um well its not supposed to. usually means you have a bad ground or ground loop. is it coming thru the stereo speakers?

Hmm, when I got a new belt on my alternator it whistled for a few months. I betcha the belt's just tighter now and making that noise.
