Okay check this out, I got some JVTR headers for my 02 civee, and they work great, no leaks, no fitment problems, no rust nothing. But for some odd reason I dont feel the extra hp I did when I put headers in my 98 civee. Now on my 98 I got 4-2-1 headers which go all the way back to my cat, but my JVT's only go down to the stock downpipe. I've heard that the oem downpipe on the 02 civ's are double insulated and willresrict my air flow no matter how big my headers are. Is this true? And I was looking at some JVTR downpipes and they go all the way back, deleting my cat all together! So im wondering if I do take my cat out with the downpipe, is it gonna light up my check engine light? Cause the secondary O2 sensor is behind the stock cat right.?. I need some help cause im not rushing in to a check engine light, I frickin hate those damn things...So if ya gots any info, HOLLA!

Re: Headers, but what about a downpipe?
You can get the random tech downpipe which has a high flow cat converter. You will not get a check engine light with this, and you will pass emissions. If you delete your car you wont be able to pass emissions, your bumper will turn black from the exhaust, and you'll have a check engine light- you can get around the CEL by using a spark plug non fouler which basically moves your O2 sensor out of the pipe to get a reading from less gas, tricking the ecu into thinking there is a cat.
Check out the link in my sig, the FAQ on the header/ exhaust for more info.
