Daily Driver

What did u guys do to your cars to make them specifically more daily driver friendly and enjoyable? for example, a loud *** exhaust that u gotta constantly listen to isn't gonna be fun for daily driver, but something that is quiet as well as benefitial to power output would be.

post whatever u did to ur car that made it more fun driving on the street, assuming that u don't gotta floor it to feel the benefit like a fatass turbo or something. Something that makes driving to work more fun...u get what i'm talking about...

Re: Daily Driver

suspension wise, dropped but not slam. Even at a finger gap in the front and no fingers in the rear I run into problem areas because of my vulnerable lip kit. Though as someone who has been on coilovers, then back on stock suspension, and then back onto coilovers in the same car, i seriously appreciate them.

Re: Daily Driver

well he said something that makes driving to work more fun. i dont think coilovers or sway bars really fit in that category at all...or any suspension for that matter. but yeah as theyre saying, lowering it might make for a little bit sportier of a feel. if it is performance you want, you kind of have to sacrifice the nice quiet sound you have if you want some. our cars dont generate all that much power unless you start doing modding, most of which makes it louder.

if i had to choose what would make driving more fun and wasnt all that concerned with performance, i would say ICE. get a nice system in there, maybe get a 7" double din display installed and get some nice comfortable seats installed?

Re: Daily Driver

Cold air intake. I loved the sound of just the intake. It made my car feel faster lol. But I think it was just the sound. A nice head unit and good speakers. Nice sound is very important to me. And you can get a 12" sub in a smaller box that doesn't wiegh more than 30 pounds.

Re: Daily Driver

If you're going to get a sub like 03em2ssm do this. This is what I am going to do further down the line, when sound systems interest me more.

i would get an 8" sub and custom fit it into the spare tire and save the trunk space and it will be lighter too. 8" sub is good for our civics. anything more and your stupid trunk vibrates and looks very ricy and ghetto. unless you spend money and get dynamat.

I installed a BOSE 6" sub from the RSX and sounds great, fits perfectly in the spare tire. Everyone who has them in an RSX says they dont bump well so I powered it with the same amp I used for the rest of my speakers and used a amp pass through and cross over to send it to the 100 watter in the enclosure

I have Polk Db651 in front
DB691 out back
OEM 6 disc se headunit
Alpine F250 amp
dynamat everything
BOSE 6" sub with 100 watt amp

sorry, that isnt a pic of my trunk is just the enclosure in an RSX I got off googel bc Im too lazy to clean out my trunk to take the picture.

I got the bose setup for $60 or so last year on EBAY and had to do alot of research to find the pin outs and rewire the amp to my system. My entire setup cost me around $350 total including all supplies and sounds amazing

Re: Daily Driver

I'm good on ICE, got a kenwood deck with 12" Alpine S sub for the past 4 years, no complaints...

I opened this thread up for people to share whatever they did to thier cars to make it more fun....not taking suggestions specifically for my car or anything

Re: Daily Driver

ICE gotta be the best, cause you listen to it all the time and if you did a good job, it will sound even better.

Re: Daily Driver

I dropped mine 2" on skunk2 springs, camber and a nice sway bar, and I definetly liked the ride more. you can take turns way faster without the dreaded roll, and on them days when you want to burn a little rubber off that fresh green light you wont get as much wheel bounce. As far as an exhaust, I love mine and it's loud as hell...And when I dont wanna listen to it I just bump my louder stereo and drown it right the hell out!
