Re: clutch..

LOL!

Seriously though, only if you jack up the subframe orientation when putting it back in. Just make your marks before dropping the subframe so that it goes back in exactly the way it was.

Re: clutch..

Subframe, marks, huh?

I've done 2 OEM clutches, 1 Competition Clutch, and one complete transmissions replacement in my car and I've never touched the subframe. The tranny I pulled out through the top of the engine bay even.

I just pull the axles and pull the tranny as far to the side of the engine bay as possible (I use rope to hold it still) and there is enough space to get a breaker bar in for removal (and a torque wrench for installation). I just did it last weekend too. Easy as pie. No alignment issues afterwards.

This was taken from under my car. See the tranny on the left?

Re: clutch..

Gah. I did it that way once and the second time I dropped the subframe to do it. I like dropping the subframe better as there is more room to get at stuff.

How did you get the tranny out the top with the engine still in there?

Re: clutch..

Hmmm. I guess that would work since the water neck hangs over the tranny like that. Good enough for me. I'll try it that way next time! Rep for you Rufus.
