Yeah, he paid 14K for it.
I can't speak to how they were put together and long term durability of it...but it sure does look and feel nice right now.
Worked at my family's collision repair shop for about all of my childhood. Never saw one domestic that had decent build quality, or at least nothing I could compair to most German and Japanese manufactuers. Even Jaguar's build qality was a near work of art till Ford bought them; now spot welds are shoddy and there's weld splatter on nearly every welded joint... Though Admiditly their engine reliability skyrocketed.
By build quality I mean how the trim panels were mounted and how the body panels fitted together. Things like that, things that you don't typically look at unless you work on cars a lot. Not that it really matters to most.
Sigh, As much as I wish it weren't true, us Americans don't seem to take as much pride in our work as we use to.

we drive hondas. its not uncommon for this to happen. ive had toyota supra owners say that and they have like strobes in the fender wells, neons, the sound flashing neons inside, JVC headunits etc. just dont let it get to you, obv kids just jealous he couldnt afford anything but a pos chevy
