Magnaflow Catback :)
Magnaflow Catback :)
Hey guys and gals, I just ordered my magnaflow catback exhaust from nopionline on wednesday. I can't wait until I come home and see the box sitting on my steps! I'm pretty excited as this is going to be the 3rd or so mod i'm doing to my car. After doing some searching around the forums I don't expect any significant power increase, but a very nice tone.
I just have a question though. Have anyone of you ever ordered from nopionline? Thier purchase system seems very very very plain and simple. It made me a little uneasy at first but I figured that nopi is a pretty big name, so there wouldn't be many problems.
Thanks guys
!
Brandon

I've ordered from them a couple times and never had a problem. In fact I ordered my exhaust from them as well. You should be fine, and their customer service (over the phone) has always been helpful!
Re: Magnaflow Catback :)
Thanks for the reassurance Clint!
Yeah, I had called them yesterday, spoke with a rep, and he said that its a "Special Order" item, and that it usually takes a few days to ship it. He said that as soon as he gets a tracking number for it, he will forward it to me.
I cant wait to hear this exhaust! The main reason why I'm getting it is because one of the baffles in my current muffler is broken and whenever I shift i get a loud tin-can rattle in the lower rpms. I have called around to price a new muffler and installation, and places are charging around 220-250 for it which I thought was completely rediculous. So, I decided I might as well drop the extra 100-150 and get a catback and be done.

Yeah Dseven, after doing quite a bit of searching on the forums, I came to the conclusion that I'm going to bolt it on myself, and then take it to a muffler shop to get it welded. I really don't want the hassle of replacing the u-bolts every so often.

Re: Magnaflow Catback :)
If its the direct-fit catback, there are no U-bolts to mess with and you can just bolt it up and go. It should come with new gaskets (2 of them), so as long as those are there, you should be fine - no welding necessary.

Just a little update:
I'm still waiting for a tracking number... I'm not too worried though, because it is the holiday weekend and stuff, so their probably backed up.
SpeedFoos, do you know how long it usually takes for them to get a tracking number to you? I'm just wondering.
Thanks again!

I have this same exhaust on my Civic and it's extremely easy to install. Yes, it does have U-bolts, but I just turned the threads to the side to avoid any damage and I have no rattles or leaks. You can install this in your driveway in about an hour.

God man, it's been a while since I ordered so I have no idea how long it takes. Plus I'm stationed in the UK, so I don't think I ever got a tracking number since they're not relevant for me.

. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get it sooner or later, I'll be sure to let ya's know what the low down is along the way! Re: Magnaflow Catback :)
I snagged mine on EBay for $310 with free shipping. Like you said, the HP gain was minimum (if any) but it sounds better. Magnaflow doesn't have an anoying crotchrocket tone that some exhaust systems create.
Re: Magnaflow Catback :)
Yeah, thats what i'm aiming for bro. I'm trying to get a nice mellow tone out of it. I don't want it to sound like a bunch of weed wackers behind me.

lol, my gf was browsing the forums I had up on my pc so I just threw that in at the bottom of my post hahaha. Anyways, I'm gonna give nopi another call either today or tomorrow to see if they are still waiting for the "Special Order" to come in and ship. :/
Re: Magnaflow Catback :)
really make sure those bolts are tight, i let my friend install my exhaust for me (apexi gt spec), the bots came out at 6 grand 1st gear right before the muffler, my seat was freakin vibrating! not fun
Re: Magnaflow Catback :)

Edit*
Called nopi, they said its in transit and it should arrive sept 7th.

Well guys, I got it, and after 2 days of broken rusted bolts, swearing, grunting, blood and tears, I finally got it installed and it sounds amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the market for an exhaust!
