Exhaust Setup

I am very interested in getting a universal Skunk2 N1 style muffler and ultimately making a custom axle-back exhaust. I'm not really thirting for legitemate power gains, but maybe just some more throttle response through lower RPMs and from postings hear and other civic forums, to get those gains from an exhaust, a full exhaust from the headers back to the a cat-back system is suggested. Also, I just want an aggressive tone when I'm on the gas. Since I can't afford new headers and a full cat-back system, I think I'm gonna go with just getting the universal Sknunk2 muffler and taking it to the guy that has done my past vehicles (96 S-10, 05 Canyon).

The other aspect unfamiliar to me is a resonator. I've read that the longer the better. I get the function of a resonator but what brands work well and where is a great place to get them at a good price?

Feedback is considered.
