Rear Sway Bars

Hey hey Club Civic. Not sure if I posted this in the right section but here it goes. Im in the market of lookin for rear sway bar for my 2001 Acura EL. Im hearin that the OEM RSX are good and a perfect fit for the EL's and considers no drillin but I like to keep my options open. Is there any other GREAT brands that is worth the money to install on the 2001 Acura EL's or should I jus go wit the OEM RSX sway bars (rear)??? Thanks in advance y'all.

Re: Rear Sway Bars

depends on what size you want... from my knowledge you have the same suspension as the 01-05 civc's correct... if so, you can get the progress sway bar which is what.. 22mm... i dunno, i have a concussion and I cant really remember a whole lot at the moment. this post sucks. lol, sorry bro. blahhhh

Re: Rear Sway Bars

Look for an ITR rear 22m say, i bought mine from some place called icbmotorsports or something like that for like 110shipped; came with bushings too. Its a great bar and provides great balance.

I'd say to stay away from the RSX 19mm. The dc5 is almost the same car and if stock honda decided to throw 19mm to make it feel sporty, then why would u wanna upgrade to something that can be still considered stock? Get the 22mm you'll be happy.

not true, oem rsx type s bars are huge improvment over the oem 15mm rear sway or lackthereoff on other models. best bang for the buck mod and itll improve cornering over stock. i paid 50 bucks for mine you shouldnt pay a dime over that. add some energy suspension bushings to it and call it a day. ive been autocrossing with that bar for awhile now and i have no plans to change it.

Re: Rear Sway Bars

I never said it wasn't a good mod. I agree that any increase in rear sway size is good, but my point is if they put it on a stock RSX then go bigger. Honda felt that a 19mm would still make the car drivable and controllable to an novice driver. I have the 22 and I think its perfect balance which leads me to conclude that the 19mm is just shy of being perfect.

With the 22 the car is soo neutral, it never understeers unless its a total driver error. Tap the brakes in the turn or lift of the gas and shabam you get rotation. Hell a 19mm might get you that, but the rate of rotate that I've experience with my 22 is soo predictable and feels damn good.

Ultimately increase in size is an improvement, but I believe the 22 is probably near the perfect combo.

Btw the price on that 22mm sway is $89 bucks...might as well just get it.
