Been working on my Lil' VP....
Well guys I been lurking around reading all your threads for months.
So I broke down and jumped off the wallet for a couple parts for my 2005 VP.
I started by painting the Black parts to match the body color (mirror, trim above tag, door handles) I added the factory wing and painted it to match also.(Some of us CAN actually paint their own stuff)
( I know MOST of ya'all on here dont dig the wings, but at least I didn't rice-out and get some giant ugly thing)
I bought a blacked-out headlight kit from Ebay and some LED tail lights.
I installed a front and rear lip kit(still have to paint them) and the factory JDM side effects(already factory painted to match)
I got some poor quality yellow JDM copy fogs off Ebay, but they look OK.
I installed the clear side markers with the help of the templates I printed from this forum. (I wired them to be on with the headlights, and blink with the turn-signals)
I got some clean and strait 10-spoke ICW rims off Craigs list locally really cheap, and bought 2 new tires for them.
Since my car came with the highly coveted "VP" package (LOL) it didn't have any kind of anti-roll or sway bar at all. So I figured since I wont be racing, I ordered the stock front and rear bars and all the links, grommets, plates and hardware to mount it all up. (just put those on this past weekend)
What a huge difference having SOMETHING on there rather than nothing!! (car drives more like it should now!!)
Inside I put in almost 1000 bucks worth of Dynamat Extreme (I get a killer discount at work- so I didn't pay that much for it) The dynamat made a humongous difference in the way the stereo sounds, and the way the road noise doesn't get in. The doors sound more like a Benz now and less like the cheapest model Honda when you close them. And as an much appreciated bonus, its ALOT cooler after being parked in the Florida sun.
I didn't go very crazy with the stereo, just a Sony deck in the dash, new 2 and 3-way Pioneers in the stock position in the doors and package tray, then I stuck a couple old Cerwin Vega 10's in the back with a little 340w dual amp crossed for mid-bass in the back up against the seat- and a pair of cheapo Jensen 10's for subs with a 580w Dual amp driving them.
It sounded pretty good, for a budget system- But I wanted a bit more and I have a bunch of stuff laying around, So I install a set of component 6 3/4" Cerwin Vegas in the back part of the door panels and the matching tweeters in the front "A" pillars, I drove them with an old Alpine amp(mounted under the drivers seat) Surprisingly, the car sounds pretty damn good now, but I attribute most of that to the 800 pounds of Dynamat under every inch of the cars coverings...... LOL
I had a Sirius Sportster wired in to the Aux-feed on the deck, but I treated myself to an Upgrade to the Stiletto for Xmass.
I'll post some pics-
I don't plan on lowering it, or doing anything to the engine, intake or exhaust.
I just wanted to make it handle a bit better , look a lil sportier, and muffle some of the roar when I drive- So far, so good!!
Before ground effects and rims:

With Rims and side effects:

Cheap Air-nibbler from Harbor Freight :

Side marker Holes:

After Lips and grille and fogs:

Re: Been working on my Lil' VP....
I also got a set of Gauges from a 02 or 03 to get rid of the hideous 05 VP instruments.
I have read the DIY guide on here about switching them over, but I don't like the idea that there will be extra wires by the way the article reads.
I will install them when I tear the dash apart to put in the Viper alarm and power door-locks and trunk popper I picked up at work.

I'm a bit north of you......
Port Richey-
Thanx everyone else for the kind words-
( I cut the side marker holes with an air-nibbler, then a dremel with a cut-off wheel, then cleaned up all edges with a set of small jewelers files) after all that I painted the edges of the raw steel with factory touch-up paint)

Re: Been working on my Lil' VP....
Looking very good there sir. Your mods are coming along very nice. How much dynamat did you really put in there, in LBS? Very sick ride. You should try to dig up pics of djrabbi's taillights like that he blacked out, they looked sick.
Re: Been working on my Lil' VP....
hey bro, i was just wondering how you got that back lip to stay on. i have the same lips as you and i only got the front lip on. the back lip just maybe wasnt put on right and it interferes with my exhaust. just wondering if you had an exhaust as well. because my back lip moves and doesnt look clean like yours

Just goto your Local Best Buy and look in the car stereo and car stereo install dept's --whatever we sell, I first went and bought 1 of every kit, then I determined that "bang for the buck" you get the most square inches for the least amount of money by buying door kits, and went crazy with it..............
Whats LBS?

My rear lip is mounted like total ****- I used the stock brackets and screws and it wiggles like crazy, I'm gunna make a proper mount when i pull it off to paint it, cause what it comes with sucks.(I'll post close ups and list the stuff i use when i do)
and yes, just bolting it on with the stock garbage makes my stock muffler tip bubble the inside of the little cut-out for the exhaust outlet, I was gunna goto an auto-parts store and buy a small generic tip and put in it so the heat is directed downwards - as I have no plans to modify anything with engine, intake or exhaust!! I don't wish to alter its stock cold-drive ability, the gas millage or dependability of my Civic.

Re: Been working on my Lil' VP....
I just used my digital scale I got for Radio controlled airplanes and a new un-opened Dynamat Door kit is 5lbs -1 1/4 oz.....
So all together prob about 50-60lbs of Dynamat in my car total!!
But its a VP, automatic thats Bone-stock with no Engine mods, it was slow when I started, and I have no illusions about it being a fast car ever.
I ride sportbikes to go fast, there's NO cars that have the power to weight ratio as bikes, I don't drive a car to get my thrills or to feed the speed monkey.
My car is to get groceries without getting rained on, and to go on dates with local women-
I have 4 Ducati's and a first year GSXR 750 --ALL with extensive mods, the Civic (or even an NSX or S2000) will never set me back in the seat the way the bikes do, so to me, horsepower mods and keeping the weight down in the car would be silly.... Ya know?

Re: Been working on my Lil' VP....
Well, I actually got back into the car to finish the last of the dynamat-
I now have almost (what would be) a thousand bucks retail in Dynamat in the car!!! LOL but compared to a LOUD/stock bullshit VP- this thing has doors that sound like a BMW or a Lexus when they close, the car is cooler when parked outside all day in the Florida sun, and the Stereo sounds GREAT!!!
I highly recommend people put in as much as you can afford!!! (i get a Best buy discount, so I can afford ALOT!)
