Is it possible to automatically open the trunk fully?

I have an EX so i have the trunk opener on my key, but im asking is it possible to install some sort of hydraulic door thing or something, so when you open the trunk it pops open all the way and not just an inch? Obviously would be a do it yourself... I cant find anything that would work, maybe i'm using the wrong search words or something... Anyone know what im talking about?

yea man i know where ur coming from, my best guess would be some kind of linear actuator (pimp-a-lishous ). Also if ur not concerned about an auto close feature, i remember on my dad's cadilac when i was younger was what i thought to be a kind of counter ballance system. So i would follow the steel 'arms' that support the lid 'into' the car and try and play around with some kind of counter balance system to make its own weight pull it open once the initial lock is released....would be simplar than fooling around w/ hydro's

If you do get that done, just be careful on windy days, as the wind could catch the lid when it opens and bend it backward or completely off the car. I think this is the reason manufacturers don't have it open all the way by itself.

Well i am not mechanically inclined at all, so my options are pretty limited in what i can do... Dont understand what you were mentioning about the counter weight system really...

Also, I usually only open my trunk when i'm right next to it anyway so of course i would be careful. Just thought it would be nice that when my hands are full i could just throw what im holding into the trunk rather than juggling to figure out how to open it. I just was hoping for some sort of pneumatic door closer, except opener obviously. You know the little things that you attach to your front door (usually a security door or something) that prevents it from slamming shut... They should make something like that except reverse, so it opens slowly rather than closing...

linear actuator.. they make electric ones.. it'd just be a matter of having say a muffler shop make a bracket to the trunk hinge.. then wiring it to the trunk release.. which a good stereo shop could do... actually.. ask a stereo shop that specializes in maybe big caddy stereos... they like that stuff in their trunks 'cause they like to open the trunk whele they're rollin' down the road

Any way to auto pop trunk on LX. I know this would require buying new keys w/ trunk control on it. But what else needs to be done

installing trunk release actuators.. which would be tricky to make work with the trunk release that's inside the car
