I am replacing my rear Wheel Bearings this weekend on my 09 Honda civic LX-S,
Does anyone know the torque specs for the 4 bolts?

Are the bearings actually noisy, or is the tire tread all choppy and making noise?
Ate up tires is pretty common.

The 4 bolts-- hub to knuckle --47 ft-lb

Hi Ezone, thanks for answering, yes I can hear them on the highway. The tires are fine, I just had them balanced at a tire shop. and another thank you for the torque spec :0

I also have an 09 civic and there seems to be abnormal road noise from the rear, mileage 38,000. Factory tires. I'm thinking the rear wheel bearing should be inspected and regreased at a minimum. ANy thoughts would be appreciated.

I don't think you can regresse the wheel bearings on Honda civics. My issue turned out to be scalloped tires

The wheel bearings are probably sealed so can't grease them.

I would have your tires/alignment checked out first. More common of an issue.

THanks everyone. Another question. WHat mileage should I be looking at replacing shocks? ANy recommendations there. Monroe?

Don't bother to replace until truly needed. (Leaking a lot or excessively bouncy)
Many of our stock struts and shocks can outlast the cars they are bolted to. Others may not, but there is no rule saying to replace at a certain mileage.

Monroe? Not on my cars. There's a reason they want you to replace every 50k, and it isn't because they sell a great product. Make sense?

I'll have to remember that one.

KYB/Koni/Tokico are the better options but no reason to replace if they are not bad.
