air conditioning issues

my 08 civics ac wont work, the fans work but the air is warm... the clutch does not engage and its been like this for 2 years now. 2 years ago a technician checked it and said it was a thermal protector switch..... ive yet to get it fixed.. recently i was looking under the hood and noticed the ground bolt was rusted bad so i was scraping around it with my finger trying to loosen the rust and the wire fell off. could this have been the problem and not the thermal protector switch? what other common problems could it be? i tried pressing the clutch with no luck

Re: air conditioning issues

Thermal protector can be checked with an ohm meter. Will have continuity if good.

Ground wire rotting off is a problem, of course. Fix that.
