Keyless Entry for '09 Civic LX?

Hey guys,

So I recently bought my Civic from CarMax back in September. When I bought it they only had one key for the car which looks like this

The key is only shaped to fit the doors, ignition, and the keyhole for the trunk lever . It doesn't fit the trunk keyhole at all. I am wanting too get another key made since I only have this one key for the car at my Honda dealership that's down the street. Is it possible for them too make me a keyless remote for the car like this key?

If not is it possible to get a key made that will fit both the ignition and the trunk because right now the only way I can open the trunk is with the trunk lever inside the car.

Re: Keyless Entry for '09 Civic LX?

USA LX should not have a fob with a trunk button.
Your LX trunk lid should not have a release solenoid in it.
You only get the manual lever on the floor and the key lock in the lid.

If the key lock in the trunk lid does not work, shoot some penetrating oil into it to see if the tumblers are just seized up from never being used.
Very common to see outside locks get stuck after several years of non-use.
You could remove it, take it apart and free it up by hand if you feel ambitious LOL
A decent dealer should be able to replace the tumblers in the lock if they are damaged. (Not everyone knows this is possible, not everyone in a dealer knows what all they have to work with)

Make sure the VIN sticker on the trunk lid matches the VIN of the car. (if the trunk lid was replaced with something off of another car, the lock may not fit your key if it was not swapped over)
