Maintenance
Maintenance
Like many Civic owners on this site, I don't take my Civic to a dealer for all my maintenance needs. Instead, I take it to a mechanic who specializes in Hondas and Toyotas. I would like to verify some of the advice he has given me without having to ask a dealer, whose standard answer is "bring it in". For example, he advises me to replace the transmission and power steering fluid only if there is a problem. Inasmuch as my previous vehicles were 90's models, I am somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of fluids that last forever. What about changing other fluids,e.g., brake fluid or coolant? As I understand it, the differential, chassis and wheel bearings are all sealed with lubricants that should last a lifetime. By the way, my Civic is a 2008 LX.
On a seperate issue, what's up with the 10 or 15 second delay between the time I type a sentence and when it shows up on the screen?

Re: Maintenance
25-30k miles for ATF drain and fill. (Honda has some crazy mileage #s for this interval... longer than I would ever consider)
4-5 years on power steering fluid change. (Honda does not mention an interval for this at all)
