Is there an RPM difference between an Si and a regular Civic?

Just picked up a '09 Si and I love it. It has the 6-spd/2.0L compared to the regular 5-spd/1.8L my daughter has in her Civic.

The first thing I noticed when I test drove it is that I am shifting a lot quicker than I expected. At 120km/hr (75mph) I am doing just over 3K on the tach.

Normal?

no, 3k RPM should be 3k RPM no matter what car you driving.

I thought I posted a legitimate question up there, in addition to a legitimate answer for his question.
Sheesh.

Lol, ezone can be a bit rough around the edges, but he's chock full of knowledge, so we let it be. haha.. I'm surprised Sandro (sdaidoji) didn't have a sort of smartass remark or witty way of responding, as well.

nevertheless, your Si has a K20 engine, which is a 2.0L DOHC while your daughter has a R18, a 1.8L SOHC. Those two engines have very different transmissions, as well, so yes, at the same speed, you're going to be at different RPM ranges.

You kinda said so yourself in your first post, also: you have 6 gears, your daughter has 5 gears. Having 6 gears for a comparable RPM band will noticeably shorten your gears. Oh, and doesn't the Si have an 8000RPM redline while the R18 redlines at 6800? That also shows that the transmission gearing is vastly different from each other

tl;dr
yep, normal. Keep calm and carry on.
