I dinged my door into another car's side mirror. It put a deep scratch in this rubbery latex stuff covering the window trim. I think I can see silver paint underneath. Is this something I can just let go (and not worry about rust), or should I fix it? How do I fix it or patch it? I have a 2009 Civic LX Sedan.

Me, I would take a black colored Marks-lot if you want to fix it on the cheapie...or replace it.

It's called a door sash. According to the diagram it's sold as part of the whole door ($450.00-I know, wtf?!). Call honda and and see if they sell it separately.

Sand it, use some kind of filler, sand it again, touch up paint. Unless u got a wad of cash burning ur trousers.
