car won't start,immobilizer system
I have a problem with 2006 civic ex coupe. Out of warranty, aftermarket radio installed 2 months ago. About 1 mo ago car wouldn't start using any of the keys. Key flashing on instrument panel. Had car towed to dealer. After 4 days got it back. First they blamed the radio for interfering with immoblizer system. They replaced the MICU and the immobilizer unit I think. Car was fine for about 3 weeks. Now same thing. I disconnected the battery and waited about 20 min then reconnected. Car started. took the car to dealer where it sits right now. When this happens the keys do not work at all. No door locks, trunk release, nothing. Car cranks but won't start. Anyone else had similar?
Thanks

Re: car won't start,immobilizer system
For anyone interested. I think they finally solved the problem. It was the ignition system in the steering column. Don't let them tell you that the remotes and immobilizer have nothing to do with one another. They are connected. They replaced the ingition components and it has been fine since.
