Air Intakes on Si...
Air Intakes on Si...
anyone hear about any problems with the cold air intakes sucking up water and seizing the engine??? Is this a legit problem or is there a valve that prevents this from happening in the intake???

Re: Air Intakes on Si...
the cold air intake's design has it to suck more cool air(away from the engine bay), therefore, it is prone to sucking up the puddles on the floor. Shouldn't be a problem unless you live in an area with lots of rain. But the bypass valve should work.
Re: Air Intakes on Si...
cool, yea I figured that there was some type of bypass or shutoff valve that would prevent water from gettin sucked up. should be ok, dont get lots of rain, but its been a rainy summer thus far.
Re: Air Intakes on Si...
Bad news, there is no bypass valve on the Injen CAI, I contacted Injen directly, the only way to offer any protection is through their hydro shield, which looks like some cheesy water repellant cover for the air filter. Injen does not make a bypass valve like AEM. so watch out for those puddles people
