Solved VAFC Check engine light problem!!!
I know i have been boasting about having a perfect working VAFC. but tonight it got cold and i got the Check engine light and my rev limit went to 4000 like everyone had been saying.
So needless to say i was pissed. I figured it was an ECU problem since it did the same exact thing as hitting the rev limiter on out cars at 7100 rpms. and the only thing i could think of to solve this problem was to reset the ECU which i hadn't done yet. DUH
So i pulled the fuse from the fuse box inside the engine and waited 10 minuts and then put the fuse back in like with the CAI instructs. This also made sense to me since people always said you don't have to do this for the CAI becuase the ECU will eventually learn it and fix it like people saying after a certain amount of time it started to work.
Well It worked i sput the Fuse back in and started the car... NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I then took it for a test drive and NO BOGGING. Hell i went althe way up to 7000 rpm in second. Damn this thing is nice. Freakin Flies especially in third. nearly lost control of the car. hehe.
So for now and until i get more time with this thing the Remedy is RESET the ECU by pulling the fuse for 10 minutes!!!!!!!!!
I'll keep you updated!

Ok Someone explain this to me. Why does my car run perfect for 2 days with the VAFC but as soon as the weather gets below70 degrees it starts to *** up. Who knows about the DIODE. are there tempeture ratings for it. WHAT???????????
HondaLuver - you were right. no matter what i did this morning i had to drive for 15 minutes before i could go above 4000 rpms.
Why is the solenoid fuking up out rev limiter. this makes no sense!!! I will solve this dammit!

you know what, they arn't going to solve it with the current V-afc, but they will when they release their V-afc 2, which will work for the K20 and the D17a. i hope they don't change the design or size so it can fit into my custom Vafc holder.

the size will be the same, the only diffrence will be the display and the ***. look at the s-afcII that's what's its going to look like. and I think the problem is with the wireing to the ecu. and they have to fix it on the v-afc, or else they have to up grade everyone with a 2k ex vic. to the v-afcII wich would kick *** FREEBIE!! I'm so glad I got a lx
and the s-afc dosnet have that problem. buy the way I'm looking for a s-afc if anyone know someone who is selling one hit me up.

I say just wait till you can get the VAFC 2. I have had the same problem and the people that say they haven't had a problem with the diode fix must live in a warm climate where it stays above 70. I'm lucky I got my VAFC 1 off ebay for 150.00. If anyone is intrested in it, holla at me...Hell, you could use it as a AFC if you wanted to.
it works fine now.. even in cold temps... heres my afc vid

I tried both of them...The DIY that uses 1 diode works the best, but in the mornings before I go to work, my check engine light comes on and my rev limiter kicks in at 4000. I just turn the car off and restart. I'm going to sell my VAFC and get the VAFC II so I won't have to worry about this when it's cold or cool outside
