Unhappy Need Help on Exhaust sound

Hi guys, I just installed my 5zigen universal muffler and it looks nice. But, I have a question. Why there is no different sound or deep sound or little bit louder than the original muffler. What I should to do if I want my car to produce deep sound, at least louder than the OEM muffler. I need your suggestion guys. Thanks and I appreciate it.

the problem is probably because it is a muffler. you should have gotten an axle-back or a cat-back. if you want to get a deep sound with that muffler, get a header with hi-flow cat and take off the stock resonator

Thanks anyway, But i don't have enough money to buy full cat-back system. I just want to keep my 5zigen universal muffler. So i must change the header and replace the resonator (with what?)? What is the good brand for header? Is it DC ceramic header?

It's not the muffler that makes the sound. The resonator is responsible for the sound that an exhaust produces. So you basically need to get custom piping or a totally new exhaust system that comes with a new resonator.

So, if I remove the resonator, it will produce deep sound?

If you remove the resonator it will sound like $hit. You need a totally new resonator.

This is where the phrase "You get what you pay for" comes to mind.

You bought a cheap exhaust and you got a cheap sound.

I bought a good exhaust and got a good sounds WITH the performance.

This is a sound clip of my exhaust...

http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/tucms315.html
Will it produce sound? If not, where I can get the new resonator that I can use to produce deep sound. I will stick with my 5zigen universal muffler (cuz I bought it approx. $205).

How about if I just install long pipe that substitutes the resonator?

go to a muffler shop and have them take out the stock resonator and either put an aftermarket resonator or just a pipe instead of the resonator. you will get the loud sound you are looking for. leave the cat alone.

well, think of it this way, the bigger the pipe, the deeper the sound, but u can change the sound by expanding, parts of the pipe(resonator) but remember, if you go too big, you wont get ain gains

What is the structure of our car exhaust system.

Header->catalyc converter->resonator->and axle back

is this true?

i realy like my setup which is kami header, 2.25 '' piping and a 18"x 2.5 resonator(30 bucks) and a tenzo uni muffler (90 bucks) without the header it cost 175 and its very clean install. it sounds a bit less loud than the straight 2.5 catbacks but theres NEVER any popping, buzzing, backfiring or all that other ricy crap... smooth sound up the rpm range and smooth right back down

I have an hp replica header from ebay and an hp axle back exhaust and im very happy with sound not to loud but nise deep sound. try having a 2 1/4 inch pipe put on from resonator to your muffler (axle back).
