Seat replacement - question about wiring harnesses?

I have taken my passenger seat out before and noticed that I had to disconnect two wiring harnesses underneath the seat. I believe one is for the seat belt, the other, I'm not sure about. I don't have side airbags, just the two front ones. Anyone have any ideas? I want to make sure that I won't have a problem if I put new seats in.....

Both of those harnesses run to the seatbelt buckle. I think one is sensing if the seatbelt is buckled and the other is a sensor in the long tube of the buckle section that senses when to lock the seatbelt like when you get into and accident and the belt stops.

I replaced my seats with Tenzo's and haven't had a problem with them.

nothing wont happen, i replaced my seats w/ oem black seats... the only thing that will happen is the SRS light will stay on. you could just have the dealership reset it for you for $60+

The SRS light will NOT stay on. unless you have side airbags.

wrong, i dont have side air bags in my car, and the light was still on...i think the trick is NOT to start the car with those sensors unplugged. if you do then the light will come on, and STAY on. it's an easy DIY to do yourself if you do start the car, or if the light is on, just need a paper clip, and some patience. look in the diy section under electrical if you need help resetting the srs light!

WRONG, I don't have Side Air bags in my car, and the light NEVER came on. Why on earth would you start your car in the middle of a seat swap?

errrr not start the car, but if you put the key in the ignitioni and turn it to the 2nd position (I.E. to listen to the radio while u work) then ugh the light still stay on because at that stage the sensor sees that something is wrong resulting in the SRS light to stay on.....

so bottom line it doesnt have to do if you have side air bags or not, it has to do with if you turn the car on or the the 2nd position in the ignition....get it?

Well if you don't have side airbags and you don't turn on your car during the swap then you will get no SRS Light.

If you don't have side airbags and you do turn on your car during the swap then you will get the SRS Light.

If you do have side airbags, NO MATTER WHAT, you SRS Light will come on because there is no place to put the extra 3rd plug.

Ok

I think that the seat belts are an "integral" part of the SRS system (ie, if your seat belts aren't working, than the SRS light will come on).

In any case - I see that the seat belts are part of the seat. What happens when I replace the seat? Can I still use the stock seat belt buckles or what??

i saw a guy in a benz pull onto the emergency shoulder, get out his ride and rip out his seat belt, a few weeks back. the automated motor must have malfunctioned and thought he was not there, thus trying to retract itself while tightening on the driver.

Dude, I HAVE replaced my seats with aftermarket racing seats. I have been telling you the whole time that everything will be fine. The brackets for the seats are made so that the buckle can be attached to it.

Here are pics of my racing seats.......

I know...

That you have stated that they work before fly, but the problem is - I tend to have bad luck with such endevours, which is why I want to make sure before jumping in! I appreciate all your help with this. I'm probably going to call that guy that you mentioned above (when I get some cash!).
