err... redline starts at 6,750 ish... fuel cutoff is at 7,100-200
forgot.
although u can go all the way to fuel cut off.. u still shouldn't.
going pass redline on a regular basis will bend a rod or two eventually...
dont be so rev happy, the car can handle revs, but that doesn't mean you should go pass redline everyday.

Yea, fuel cutoff is at 7200 rpm. I have hit it a few times in second gear while paying attention to the road and not the tach. Sometimes it just doesn't sound like it's at redline and I don't realize it.
Autos should redline through every gear regardless of the model when the pedal is to the floor and the tran is in D.
I wouldn't worry about hitting the fuel cutoff too much. That is what it's there for. EVery now and again = fine. Everyday = berry bad.
I don't feel that redlining is a big deal either. Just accelerates wear on the engine. It will take the abuse but no engine is going to stand up to constant redlining and just flat out craziness. Basically, drive normally most of the time and save the abuse for special occasions...
Although, I have to admit, I have been beating the living sheit outta my car lately. I got it cause it was cheap and I wouldn't have to feel bad about stains and ******* the poor thang...that's what I tend to do now...My only concern is the clutch going out at 80k instead of 150k.

redile around 6,700...and cut off at 7,100-7,200, if you want to redline your automatic tranny until 7,200 and you obviously can't on park, while rolling, pop it in neutral and floor it, the tach will go all the way to 7,200, you'd be impressed
Haha. I'm sitting here busting up laughing reading some of the stupid crap you people do, lol. Keep on doing what you're doing and remember to bring your cars to my shop when they start breaking down on you. Busted transmissions, bent valves, shattered pistons

. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ there's a reason for redline. it doesn't just "accelerate" wear on the engine.
you're going to break something.
trust me.
I have too many smart friends who did that to their car.

Redlining the engine isn't a bad thing unless it is done VERY often. I don't know, if you are redlining it through every gear several times a day or in other words, a teenager, you may run into problems.
As I said, redlining isn't going to do much of anything. When I say redline, I mean 6800, not the fuel cutoff.
10 yrs behind the wheel of hondas and having owned 6 of them, if you have a problem, it is going to be from EXCESSSIVE abuse. It's not going to be because you redline the engine every few days or even once a day. And I'm sorry, if you run into some type of major engine damage, you are driving like you're on a race track from light to light, day in and day out. LOL
Oh, and same for the fuel cutoff. You hit every now and again, you will MOST LIKELY never have a problem. If you are hitting it all the time, yea, you could possibly have an issue. Hitting the cutoff once a month or every few months is what I mean by now and again.
I will say that there are a hand full of people out there that really treat and drive their cars like a frickken psyhco. Those are the ones that run into problems. Not your average teenager hauling **** everywhere.

LMAO people are scared to take your car to the red? That doesnt matter, its not bad for your car, your just ruining your fuel efficency. If it was bad for your car they wouldnt even let you rev that high, Thats why they have fuel cut off so you cant do damage to your engine. Now go drive the **** out of your car.

Hehehe i always wondered bout that. But never really worried. I redline (not as in hit fuel cut off...just shiftin at 6800 or 6900) every time i run it (which is not EVERY DAY obviously). I think i've only hit fuel cut like twice in the life of my car though. So i'm safe right?

I'd like to see a mod that beeps at me when I'm near the revlimiter so I can shft, because when Im on the track I'm not checking the revs, I'm driving. [/B]
