Rep Power: 302 can a small blue 12 volt bulb work with out the resisitor and without screwing the ecu up? I can hook it up straight to a 12 volt source without it being too bright or blowing out, it also looks really nice when lit.

Rep Power: 0 I have a 12 volt bulb hooked up without a resistor. It is a little bright at night but that is ok. Might have to get a **** adjustment so I can turn it down at night.

Rep Power: 302 I actually found a DIY with pics. If you look at all the links on the left under "menu", click DIY. There's one under electronics. If it's not enough the one I did has a lot more pictures so let me know if you think I should still make one.

Rep Power: 0 i just ordered ten 200k potentiometers from allelectronics.com because their minimum purchase was 10, so if anyone needs one i might be able to hook you up for a couple bucks (cost + shipping + a lil extra )

Rep Power: 0 lol i was reading a webpage that was linked on here and the guy was talking about how the VTEC light isn't just "rice", and I came up with a ricey idea...
while the vtec light by itself may not be "rice", what if you hooked up one of those LED exhaust tips to it so it turned on when VTEC engaged...after burners !!!
now that would be rice
(you could probably do it using a relay so it doesn't draw too much current)

Re: VTEC Indicator Light - need help!!!
We in the philippines have a d16w8 engine on our 2k1 civics we have 3 stage vtec in our engine I tap my wires directly from the engine bay to get this mod to work. tho I have found the green and yellow wire in the ecu box, I hav'nt found the 2nd vtec in the ecu box. Is the some way of me finding that wire? is there a pinout for the ecu of the d16w8? or is it a wierd engine? thanks.
