What HID Bulb Fit into TYC PROJECTORS?
I wanted to get D2S HID bulbs, but is it only 1 size and would it fit?
As for H1 HID bulbs, will it fit, the HID conversion type bulbs?

imo, i wouldnt put HID bulbs in tycs. they're projectors and will probably blind the hell out of oncoming traffic hehe. plus the wattage might be too much. there are some members here with HID bulbs though. maybe you can ask them. the H1 HID bulbs should fit, i dont understand why it wont.

actually, many people say it's better use hid in tyc projectors than in the stock headlight assembly, because projectors are designed with a sharp cut, while deflector type housing is a cluster that slowly fades as it leaves the center. a couple mebers converted the tyc lens into the audi a8 lens before adding on hid. but i think h1 is correct

Yap I dod want to put HID in my TYC Projectors, but my problem is that shielding thing, do people still stick it in with the shielding on? cause that shielding is suppose to be for regular housing not projector housing

HID's run colder then regular halogen bulbs. So no, you won't have to worry about melting your housing or wires.
As for the shield, you won't need it. Your TYC projectors should already have a shield on the inner upper half the the projector lens so you could just plug them in and it'll work fine. H1's are correct.

the "H1" HID bulbs are D2S or similar with the custom molded H1 socket. if the bulb fits, don't crack the shielding. and for gods' sake PLEASE aim your projectors properly especially if you have HID!

I've heard that "H1 HID" bulbs are too long for the TYC projector housing. I'm not sure, but I thinkin that's that Unleaded said.
Ok I'm going to clear this up. I have a set of Xenon H1 7000k HID's in my TYC projectors. Yes it is H1 HID bulbs. No they are not too big for TYC projectors. Yes you will still have a sharp cut off point. The light output is unbelievable!!! So bright. I had to do some modifying to fit the bulbs though. The HID bulbs have that little "rod" that comes off the side. Because of this "rod" I had to make the bulb housing in the projector bigger. I used a drill and cut out a little space at the bottom of the bulb housing so it would fit. Also I had to modify the rubber water resistant cover that goes over the back of the bulb housing. I had to cut a small hole so that the supplied wire plug would fit.
It's really complicated to explain.
