Many problems installing indiglo gauges.....help.....

Ok, here's the situation. I took the gauges out and stuff with no problem. I wired the red wire from the indiglo gauges to the black/red wire from the blue connector. It won't light up!!! i've checked my splicing and it's perfect, but the gauges just won't light up.

Now, my SRS light has come on as well. And, to top it off, the bulb that lights up 4,000 to 6,000 on my RPM gauge has gone out too. sigh.... Am I doing anything wrong here?

Did you happen to start the car with the airbag connection unplugged (the yellow connectors)? If you did, that would explain the SRS light. You can reset the light by either using the DIY here on the site, or sometimes you can take it to your dealer (but that may not be such a good idea with the indiglo guages in). Sorry I can't be of more help.

make sure to hook your red wire to the "Black/Red wire"
make sure you hook your ground to a REAL GROUND and nothing plastic

I know that's the problem

go and fix it

Your SRS light will come on if you start your car without the gauges plugged in. Reset your SRS light.

where would you ground it? I've grounded it into the screw, a metal screwdriver, the ignition (I was running out of ideas).

use the DIY... i just installed my gauges a coupla days ago and they wouldn't work... so i bought wire taps, and that ground thing (can't remember the name... but there's a pic of it in the DIY) and after putting all that together again everything worked...

cause when i installed them the first time... i just spliced the wire, and i just grounded to a screw... after i used the above materials everything worked perfectly...

good luck!

and trust me... it's worth it

There are 2 black and red wires in the harness....make sure you tapped into the one that is in the middle of the harness!!! I did the same thing 1st time around! Then voila!

Make sure you're not grounding it to a painted metal surface. You need a clean ground, and for that you may have to sand little under a screw in order to make contact with pure metal.

To help you on the light that burned out, if you flip your gauge cluster over and look at the back there are a bunch of little plugs. Just use your fingers to twist out the bulb that is in the area of your burned out light. Now I don't know where you can get these, maybe at the dealership, but once you get it, it is real easy to fix.
