2k1 LX can I put headers on it

I was told that I could not put headers on a 2k1 LX because of where the cat converter is located. Then I heard that all I need to do is change it to EX specs, and get an after market cat converter. Is this true, and where can I get headers and a cat converter for my LX

Yeah, damn all that.

You can't get an aftermarket cat without a new header because the cat is one with the header on the LX. So just get you the Kamikaze header with no cat and go 'vroom vroom' . Check out ImportParts.com.

I keep being told about the Kamikaze's I just want to know how and what I need to do to get it done and hopefully stay street legal. I heard that you can put ex header on it without the cat converter but it would not be street legal. I dunno I just want to know what to do.

you can get the LX/DX header and stick with the LX/DX exhaust but you have to have a new cat put in to keep it street legal.

OR you can get the EX header and the EX exhaust.

FYI removing the cat at all is a federal offense if there is nothing wrong with it. That clearly doesn't stop people. But once you do it it's not like they can prove there was nothing wrong with it unless you confess.

DUDE!!!!!

The kamikaze header has NO CAT. If you install a Kamikaze header on your car it will be illegal!

If you want a header thats legal get a DC for an EX, add an aftermarket cat, It would be alot easier for you to do this!

I went through this same thing with my car, I wanted the kamikaze and i also wanted it LEGAL.

The actual lenth of the Kamikaze Vs. a DC is much longer, Hell its just bigger and longer!

I have to put my stock header/cat back on for emmisions next month!

You can get a new cat or high flow cat at any mufler shop, You can weld it in or have flanges welded in and bolt the cat in, depending on the cat you get, but other then that all you have to do is relocate the O2 sensor behind where ever you put you new cat. do that and you're done.
