yes but with the vtec controller portion of it unhooked. the vtec controller gives an engine light, which reads as a vtec solenoid error code.

i have it installed, the only thing is when my car is cold, it doesn't rev over 4,000. but i let my car warm up, when it goes under 1,000 rpm then turn it off for 5 seconds then turn it back on and it runs regularly, the only thing is the check engine light. but that goes off after i have my car on for a while.

yeah but for a lot of people (including me) the engine light does not turn off unless the ecu is resetted or have it turned off with an OBDII.

Read somewhere that if the vtec portion is connected, vtec will not switch to stage 2 at 'kick-in' rpm and therefore cause more harm than good.

yeah you should go read the older threads about the vafc on our cars, we've pretty much pinpointed the problem and are waiting for a fix.
