shift shifter vs. adapter
i am most likely going to get a short shifter for my 2002 civic this week. i have been looking around and have noticed that there are short shifters and short shifter adapters. what is the difference? do i need both? which is better?

Really. Stop and think about your question for a second. Wich do you think would be better? An adapter that goes on the stock shifter..or a unit that fully replaces the shift assembly? Go for the shifter. And while you're at it...buy the bushing replacment thingies from capyoda. I got mine quickly..with no problems..and I notice a big diffrence in shifting. As always everything is just MO.

cant have both (adapter and short shifter) on right now... cuz revo changed their design... before, the short shifter assembly simply has a shorter stick, I dont see any other difference... then they relocate the cable pivot point too, which is what adapters do (without shortening the shift stick).
basically, the newest version of revo, which you'll find everywhere now... (and also the OBX clone), shortens the stock shift stick, and relocates the shift cable pivot point to shorten the throw even more.
while the neuspeed, dc, etc. short shifter adapters, they relocate the cable pivot point to shorten throws, without shortening the stick shift.
some people dont want to shorten their stick shift, so they get the adapters... which runs from a lot of different price range...
i think an adapter is not that worth it, cuz the effect wears off soon... but I'm pretty sure the revo will too, this isn't a bad thing.. its just after you drive for awhile, the shifting becomes regular, something u get use to fast.
as for the bushings, u can grab one straight from my site for $16 bucks shipped.
