How to gap spark plugs?
How do you gap spark plugs?
A friend of mine is getting NGK platinum plugs for his 99 Accord I-4.
I'm guessing they require "gapping" which i dont even know what it is. LOL
I didn't gap my denso iridiums and they work fine.
So... how do you gap? (i will buy the little gapping thing at pepboys tomorrow)
thanks

Dang dude...you threw in plugs and did not even check the gap?
Lets say the gap is .45
You look for the .45 on the gapping tool and make sure that the gap in the plug fits snug around the .45 on the tool.
Not sure what the gap is though so you should find out.

spark plugs never come gapped, especially the denso's and the ngk's also you use the gapping tool to gap them with. and to find out what you need to gap them to the manuel for ever car will say it in the specifications table...
Denso Iridiums comes Pre-Gapped people!
Mine did my friends did thas wha I was told my whole life and it works perfect on my car.
They also hvae a copper core center and an ultra micro iridium tip.

BTW, wire gapping tools are much more accurate than the sliding "coin" type ones.[hr]
