Turbo Wishlist

Ok. . . . . i know that probably everybody on this site, has been goin crazy over the custom turbo thing. And i'm excited about it too. I mean everybody has their own opinions on what and what not to get. I know that i need and want these basic parts.
Turbo ............ what kind a Garret what? T3? T4?
intercooler .......... what size and dimension? Spearco? Turbonetics?
wastegate .............. what kind would be good
Blow off valve ............ HKS Super Sequential Blow off Valve
turbo timer ...................... HKS turbo timer
boost gauge ......... autometer cobalt seies

so what i'm askin is would anybody who has the turbo already, give me the parts and specs that they used in their turbo. And try to get into detail as much as possible. Also i don't need to upgrade fuel system any if i want to run 8lbs of boost right?

bzz wrong....fuel system should definetly be on the list...they are so many turbo options on T3's that you should really looking at the different sizing offered. T4 would be too big for the 1.7 in most cases.

Well if a T4 is too big then should i got with the T3, and what should i do to my fuel system. Got some suggestions to give me. I want to run only 8lbs of boost, i was told i dont' have to modify the fuel system. If i wanted more than 8lbs of boost i needed to.

FYI the turbonetics intercoolers are made by spearco

edit: btw if you're gonna run more than 8psi then you need to upgrade more than just the fuel system

Ok i've done some research and yes Turbo Performance does offer a 2,400 turbo system for our cars. But thats without the support of an intercooler. But anyways ........... ok everybody seems to have the T3/T04e turbonetics turbocharger, tiel wastegate, and spearco intercoolers. But i have noticed that some have added bigger fuel injectors or more of the 350cc ones. And also custom or second fuel rails. But what about the manifold. Do i have to get that custom made?

fuel system will need to be modified for return, You'll need a bigger fuel pump, or a booster pump to add to your stocker. You need larger injectors. You need a FMU to boost the fuel pressure when in boost.

Custom manifold can be made by anyone that knows how to use a welder and pipe bending mechine of some sort. If you want to know the difference between the T3 and T4 turbo, T3 is less power but spools sooner, T4 more power spools at higher RPM's T3/T4 is a good in between on. If you plan on getting valve work done you can have that higher redline so you T4 will have that extra time to spool, otherwise, and this is just IMO, T4 is to big of a turbo for the car because by the time it spools it is to close to red line and you wont get the power for long. T3 will spool sooner but less power. As for intercoolers, That depends on the flow that will be needed for the turbo you get. don't cheap and get a small one cuz then it won't handle high boost, but don't waste your money on one that is bigger then you will ever use. But you need to find what turbo and how much boost you plan on running. Injectors are the same way. Couldn't tell you which ones to get and hardly anyone has turbos on this car with that set up. Depends on what your needs are.

you would need to upgrade the fuel system just to push 5psi, if not you would throw a check engine
light, scan tool will say burning to lean (too much air, not enough fuel) you will end up burning
a hole in your piston. youre Air/Fuel ratio gauge will go straight to lean when you punch it.
