help---reverse indiglo gauges

hi is there a way to take out the ***** that control the brightness and the other ****. Because I can't fit the reverse indiglos into the smaller needles

I know that. But it saids nothing about the ***** and the diy itself saids how hard it is getting it in. I got in anyway. I just forced it in. Hope I didn't f**k up the caliberation. Anywayz, I'll find out soon enough.

I think my ***** just fell right out after I had the gauge cluster disassembled.
