Calculating pressure coming out of compressor

Hey guys, I need some clarification on a formula to calculate the pressure coming out of the compressor or Pco. This is according to a book called Honda/Acura Engine performance by mike kojima. (pretty good book, lots of stuff for beginners, btw)

Pco = Boost Pressure + Atmospheric pressure + Pressure Drop across intercooler

Why would you add the pressure drop across the intercooler? Wouldn't you subtract that instead? Why do I need to know? Cuz I'm a nerd that's why. Oh well. Any experts out there?

Yes, you would subtract the pressure drop.

However, the author probably defines the pressure drop as a negative number, thus it would be "subtracted" on it's own in his formula.
