Pros & Cons; Revo SS
What are the minor and major problems 7thgens have run into with this product?
Why is it worth getting one? Are you happy with it, or wish you could return it? What would you consider the best Revo SS set up (bushings and what not)?

they can chop your existing shifter and reweld teh threads back on. exactly the same thing, completely. no long term effects, and you never have to worry about problems with the assembly, unless its a problem you would have had anyways. its stock!

whiterabbit is an advocate of cutting shifter.. heh... but yeah he's done it.
actually, the 2nd generation of revo shifters also moved the pivot point of the cable to give a shorter throw... so its not just a lowered stick..
1st few ones they had were just $100 stock assembly with shorter stick shift.
best bet is to grab one on ebay.. an OBX Revo replica... it runs for half the price.. around 50-60 bucks shipped.
as for bushings, grab mine its about 48% cheaper than kumosport's. thats if u want them.

as to ur question...
I bought the neuspeed short shifter adapter instead of Revo's because I didn't want to lower my stock stick... I just want a shorter throw (but the neuspeed didn't provide much.. and I got use to it after time) if u lower ur stick and u have an armrest, its harder to have that armrest be useful...
also, after time, u may get use to the revo short shifter and forget that its even there... so... I duno.

yeah ... the revo ss was a very good mod. However, over time I got used to this as well lol. So now I feel like the throw is still too much.
Interestingly enough, everyone was raving about how the kumosport bushings were the bomb ... however, when I installed it, I didn't notice a difference at all. Then I realized that my car (for some weird reason) didn't come with the rubber bushings in the first place.

my revo ss and kumo bushings were new ... I bought them both separately. But yeah ... the stock shifter didn't have rubber bushings in it ... it was just the bolts ... so yeah, I really don't have a use for the kumo bushings ... hehe anyone wanna buy them?

Just got the Revo not too long ago from a friend. I love it. I can now chirp my tires changing into 3rd gear. Feels much better than the stock shifter; this is one mod I think is not good because of a performace factor, but just because it is better in almost every way than stock. Well except for the fact that this will most likely destroy my snycros faster.
