got vafc installed 2day
I just wanted everyone to know that my friend installed my vafc today and the check engine light came on but i was reading through the instruction manual and made sure that the vtm blue wire that came from the ecu was cut going towards the car. So the vtm wire from the vafc went to the ecu directly. I also made sure that after the light came on i resetted the vafc and the ecu. Then i turned the car to on and set the following: 6in6out, 4cyl arrow up, h-l=5000 l-h=4900 thats all i did then i turned the car off and then turned it back on and let it idle for awhile. I then drove it around and reved it til the vtec kicked in which is soo awesome because u can actually feel it pull. And yet still no check engine light. Its been acouple hours and i drove it for about 45 mins and still no light, and tommorow im gonna go get it dynotuned so i hope that that helps. Oh and make sure that you follow the directions when i says to put the brown wire closer to the ecu do it, same goes for red closer to ecu than orange. I hope that this sheds some light on this matter. If yall would like ill post some pics tommorow. stay tuned
Man thats great
Can u put some pics on how u did the wiring thing because there are a lot of confusion regarding the diys on this product. Thanks for your help dude More HP tp you

hey sorry about the wait guys, but the owner of the shop that i was gonna get it dynoed at was out of town for a month so i guess ill wait. But the check engine light is still off abnd its been 3 day already. Man whenever you turn the vtec down u lose sooooooo much gas. I used to get about 380~ miles to the tank but now im only at 2 days and at 279 and im almost on E
thats what happens when you hit vtec tooo many times hehehe, but im gonna post some pics of the install tommorow just too dark and lazy to do it right now. My friend and i was trying to look over the diagrams to see what people have done wrong but we followed the directions down to the dot and yet still no light so ill post updates as things happen k, cause i really want to help everyone here out.

A lot of times I'll fill my car up on a half of tank so I won't have to spend so much money all at once....I'd rather put 8 dollars in than 15. But I get a little over 200 miles on a half of a tank. When I went to nopi a few months ago I'd run it down to almost E and fill it up and I was getting about the same mileage as mrdan4548. Maybe yours is unusual...or either you have just been listening to the sound of your intake or exhaust too much
I've never really let it run to E...i read somewhere here once that our tank is good for about 300 miles, then look for a gas station....is that wrong? At 300~ miles i'm at 3/4 of a tank...but i also read how our gas gauges are funky...so i havent been chancing it....so you're all saying that i could be getting almost 400 miles a tank and not know it? dammm i'm dumb!
Does the Gas dummy light get triggered from the guage needle, or a sensor in the tank itself?

You can't really go by that or the guage.
Around town local driving I'll fill up at the 1/4 tank reading and it's only maybe 250 miles.
On the road I have gone as far as 360 or more before filling up.
Of course I'm getting 28 - 30 MPG local and about 39 MPG on the highway so that makes a big difference.
The only way to know your mileage is to check the miles/gallons when you fill up, because the guage just isn't accurate enough to give you real good numbers.

Price is much cheaper and I think this can retard the timing.
What do you think?
Your car is OEM? do you have test pipe, header, cai or something to check engine light is kept switched off?
i think your method doesn't work, i've tried that like 3 times with cold starts each time. the engine light comes on. i'm pretty sure it's because it doesn't get so cold where you live and your engine isn't starting at the cold temperatures that most other vafc owners have.
