AEM INTAKE HELP!!!

watsup...

i jus got a aem intake used. it came with both tubes, the 2 rubber things, all the clamps, the the lil rubber hose w/ clamp, and the filter.

i am missing all bolts, screws, washers, and the metal bracket that attaches to the lower part of the engine. wat should i do about this?? is there any easy replacement i can pick up at al's auto supply?? i called aem and they will not sell parts, i have to go to a authorized dealer. anyone have an extra one??

also, my filter is bent. its not terrible, but it doesnt look great. will it still work fine? or is a bent filter bad? other than looks it seems like it would work fine.

if anyone knows who can get me the extra parts for the intake please let me know....

THANKS!

use your stock bolts. the bracket only comes on intakes that dont have mounting points like my cheapie AEM knockoff.

Yeah I would get a new filter. Bent/harmed filters is not a good idea.

Yeah, i figure the nuts and bolts wouldnt be a problem... but what about the bracket, is it really needed? and is there something i can use instead??

Nuts: yes, i got screwed. but i really woulda been screwed if the guy never sent me my intake.
FlyRiceRacer02: you musta got screwed too, no nuts, bolts, washers, and bracket?

Everyone else....

why is a bent filter bad, other than looks? it is not cracked or anything? wont it still get the same amount of air?

thanks for all the helpful comments guys!

Well if there is any damage to the filter to where its not filtering the air, it does not take much dust and dirt to clog up things. Im the type that would rather be safe than sorry.

i didnt get any brackets or anything with mine i dont think. its been almost 2 years since i put it in, but im positive i used all the stock nuts/bolts and the "brackets" that are pre-molded onto the pipe. i dont see how even if they did come with them, why you couldnt do it without them.

also remember, you bought it used thats your fault for trusting, a used item never guaruntees anything.

you don't really need the bracket, the stock one is fine.

The bracket should be already welded to the pipe. If there is no bracke, it's not AEM or it's been broken off.

Maybe I didnt read this correctly but did you get the short RAM intake or the CAI? I have the CAI and I think I may know which bracket you are talking about. Are you talking about the one that replaces the mount on the Transmission? I tried to use the original mount on my intake but you really do need the one AEM supplies because it is bent just right to allow the lower half of the intake to go under the battery. I have no clue how you are going to make this work without the bracket but if you do, I really hope it works. I think you will get a lot of metal hitting metal when you rev your engine because that pipe moves a little when you hit the gas. Good luck......

Crackerman,

That's right, I don't think we know for sure if he has SRI or CAI.
