Not your typical tranny swap question...

Is the gear ratio in the EX the same as in the non-vtec enginesI was just wondering if they were the same or not. Question number 2: what is the spline count on our tranny? and finally I want to swap a ZC manual tranny into my automatic civic; It will bolt right up to the D16 engines, but what about the D17?

The ZC engine is the DOHC D16A1, so it is a D-series tranny. since you can get a whole ZC swap( engine, tranny, and ECU) for around $700, I think that I can probably pick up the tranny for around $200 or so. These tranny's have the best gearing for drag racing, but my highway mileage is gonna go to ****.
1500 eh? thats about what in real money (American money; just joking)? about 1200 give or take right? Seems a little high to me, you would prolly be better off locating the tranny yourself and having somebody do it as a side job. Are you on Toronto Street Racing.com? I'm sure someone off of there would be willing to take on the challenge.
