Intake Question?
I already have my intake in for a while now. The question is I noticed other cars on this site, (by the way I have Injen CAI) have their hoses going over their upper pipe of the CAI, I tried putting the hoses over the pipe, but it felt tight and as if the hoses were to come off, so I put it under the pipe. Is it possible (because some of the hoses touch the pipe) that the heat from the intake pipe melt the hoses? and how did you people with Injen CAI's get the hose over the pipe. Did you just force it or what? Heres a pic of what I'm talking about. Thanks

Ummm, I would really rethink that move. That intake does get hot enough to melt those hoses and one of them is a fuel line, not sure about the other though. Just don't want you to burn through one of your fuel hoses...might cause a tiny problem.

Well, if your intake gets THAT hot.....you have more to worry about than a fuel line. Your intake piping shouldn't get any warmer than the temperature in the engine bay. So the fuel line is going to get that hot if it's hitting the pipe or not. I've had my lines run underneath my intake since I put it on (over a year) and no problems so far....

And just a little FYI....there is a throttle body heater that causes your throttle body to heat up (obviously) when your engine is running. If your intake pipe is pushed down all the way and is touching the throttle body......it's going to heat up a bit more due to the heat transfer. I backed mine off about a half inch and the intake pipe stays much cooler.......and doesn't sit high enough to hit the hood when I close it.
