Is it fiber glass or urethane, if i where you and i had never done it before i would get help from someone or pay some one to do it pro.... As for painting it if you are a good painter and can find factory paint then do it, but thats just me, its easy to **** up or break your fiberglass if you notch out to much or something of that sort... be careful

I think regardless if its Glass, or Urathane you should have a shop do it for you. I did my Xenon kit myself, but I had access to a shop as well as my uncle has been a bodyman, for 20+ years so it was good to have the experiance to guide me. It wasnt easy at all, because I had no clue what I was doing when I started but now I know what it takes to do it, and its not amature stuff thats for sure.
But if you must do all the work yourself, make sure you the prep work correctly and dont rush it. As well when you go to paint it, make sure you take the paint code from inside the door and use flex agent to make sure it wont chip, flake or crack.

Good Luck.
