If I remember correctly, it should be on the right side of the driver's footwell.

Our cars are OBDII and the conector is located on the driver side behind the ash tray.

Ash tray? I don't have one either. The diagnostic port is beside the fuse box under the dash, driver's footwell, toward the center console. Remove the plastic guard, and you'll see it no problem.
