head gasket?

I read a thinner head gasket can change compression. True or false. And would it be a good idea. What kind of gain if any would I look at. Thanks

Yes, a thinner head gasket will increase compression. Thought I'm not sure if it would be a good idea on our cars, but I've read that for every 1pt. increase of compression you'll get a 5% hp boost. Of course, you'll have to use higher octane fuel as well.

yes, a thinner gasket will give you better compression. is kind of like getting your head milled down. i don't see what it would hurt on our cars but i am no mechanical wiz either.
