Rep Power: 0 Mandrel bent or Crushed bent?
i have 2.25 inch custom piping with a magnaflow muffler, and a removed resonator. Basically it sucks. it is not loud at all i can hardly even here it until likee 3500 hundred rpms then it starts getting louder. But i was looking at the piping and i think they exhaust shop might have screwed me and put on crushed bent piping instead of mandrel bent, how can i tell the difference? Also would the crushed bent piping be why it is so freaking quiet, and would that cause me to lose Hp?

Rep Power: 0 well crush bent pipes wont give results like the mandrel bends, but you get some hp..as for being loud, you have a magnaflow,i havent heard an y that are loud and if you have a dx/hx/lx,you have 2 cats and that will reduce your sound level. take those out and you should be louder and buy a header and youll be louder.crush bent pipes wont hinder the sound at all either.i have crush bent 2.25,no cats,hp header, and apexi n1. too loud..

Rep Power: 0 The difference between the two is that
Mandrel Bent would be smooth on the bends, where as Crushed would have like ripples in them when it was bent.
Mandrel is better because you get better and smoother air flow.
As for your sound problem its a MagnaFlow, they are known to be quieter than most. I have the cat back and its quiet, but when you come on to it, you can hear it.
Hope This Helps.

Rep Power: 0 For the level of performance in most of our cars, it doesn't matter whether they mandrel bent your pipes.
Swap your muffler for a Borla straight through. You'll hear it.

Rep Power: 0 personally I think a 4 banger sounds like **** when it's loud.......I don't wanna hear it coming around the block, only when it whines past me if it can is all I care about...that nice tach noise it what I like...oh ya....
if that's what you want besides that shitty "just plain loud" noise....go with the stock cat and a flowmaster cat-back exhaust...it'll give you a note that's on par with lotus sound and quality through the rpm band....talk about sleeper with hp numbers...oh ya....
