It should come off. There are some members who have replaced theirs with a colored one so it's do-able

i think its 19 bucks shipped, and yea i did the swap on my sedan when i had an altezza grill and eyebros bodymatched. Really easy to tale off, like 4 small nuts and a plastic clip in teh middle. socket wrench and a small screwdriver to pop the clip out and your done. Does look kinda dumb to leave it off, you need to replace it with something else. Greg will help you out. Hes a good guy. www.hondawerx.com

Yep, got one for my sedan months ago. I ordered it from h&a I think...$18-19 shipped and installs in under 5mins. Really made my sedan look better imo. The front was just too busy looking.

I think it looks much better than the regular sedan piece, plus it retains the look of OEM while also being 'custom'. (For sedans at least )
For sedan owners looking for something better than sedan OEM, but don't like the look (or gap) of the Altezza/RS, the OEM coupe grill conversion is an easy alternative.

FYI
I bought the coupe grill and radiator cover in the marketplace for $25 (slightly scratched, but I don't care).
The body color hood trim piece goes for under $20.
